  • Fields

      • Create text, quantity, toggle (yes/no), date, date & time, image, video, attachment, formula, and cross-reference fields.

      • Automatic fields for created on, created by, last modified on, and last modified by.

      • Resize/rearrange/delete fields at any time.

      • Enforce that values are required for a field.

      • Enforce that values are unique for a field.

      • List specific values that text or quantity values must be one of for a field.

      • Change restrictions on fields at any time (existing values that violate the new restrictions are marked as such).

      • Users get immediate feedback as they type about whether a value is valid or not. A record can only be created/updated if all of its values are valid.

      • Statistics header on quantity fields quickly shows totals, averages, smallest, and largest. Change the default statistic to show at any time. Statistics show on applicable formula and cross-referenced fields also.

  • Records

      • Create, update, delete, and archive records.

      • View full audit history of every change, who did it, and when.

      • Cross-reference records from other books (or the same book) and display whatever fields you'd like for them, including image, video, and formula fields.

      • View images and videos directly in the app.

      • Download the originals for images, videos, and attachments.

      • Sort records by one or more fields.

      • Group records by one or more fields.

      • Filter records using comparisons such as is, is not, is greater than, is less than, is before, is after, starts with, includes, is blank, is not blank, has errors, does not have errors, and so on.

      • Combine as many filters together as you'd like.

      • Save sort/groups/filters as a "view" so you can go directly to that view at any time.

      • Export the result of your sort/filters to CSV file and choose only the fields you want to export.

      • Import records from CSV file into an existing book.

      • Create a new book from a CSV file.

      • Visual formula editor to easily select fields and functions to make your formula.

  • Permissions

      • "Data Aware Permissioning" - All fields and values that you create can be used when defining permissions. This enables you to define permissions that reflect your actual business rules and that don't change often (such as "users can see their own sales records and managers can see sales records for employees with a lower paygrade in their own department") instead of constantly keeping up with simplistic roles/groups/permissions on individuals.

      • Permissions can be defined on fields also, which means fields can be completely hidden and that permissions are uniquely evaluated on each cell for each user. For example, a permission can be created so that users can only see their own SSN or only update their own phone number (where SSN and phone number are custom fields that you created).

  • Administration / Miscellaneous

      • Adding/removing users is completely self-service.

      • SSO-ready (not self-service at the moment).

      • Upload custom branding images.

      • Generate automation keys and call the Cloudternal REST APIs yourself (documentation coming soon).

      • Users can customize the app with their favorite color scheme (including dark themes).

      • Send feedback to us directly from the app.

  • Security

      • Authentication is managed by Google.

      • All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

      • Every organization gets its own, isolated database and infrastructure.

      • FedRAMP Moderate compliant.
